Matt Blondin, originally a native of Sudbury, Ontario has worked in the Toronto restaurant scene since 2005. He started his Toronto career at Rain, and further honed his skills at Luce and Sens5es. In 2007, Matt joined Claudio Aprile, and the Colborne Lane team and eventually became its Chef de Cuisine in 2008. After spending part of 2010 in British Columbia studying seafood and west coast aquaculture, Matt returned to Toronto to open the highly awarded Acadia. A year later, he signed on with Momofuku as Daisho’s Executive Sous Chef, and remained there until mid 2013. In 2013, Matt partnered with Adrian Niman, and The Food Dudes. Since then, the team have launched several restaurants in Toronto including Omaw, on Ossington Avenue, and the newly opened Pantry, and Pantry Rosedale. Matt, and the Food Dudes are preparing to launch two new concepts in 2017, a bar concept in Toronto’s King West district, and a 12 seat ticketed tasting menu only restaurant.
