Alumni Feature | Terry Manzo | Class of 1985

As photographer for the Stratford Chefs School, Terry Manzo‘s delectable food shots and vibrant event coverage contribute to our world class reputation. Terry is an SCS Alumna, graduating in our inaugural class of 1985.

A client once said to Terry: “I wish I could see the world through your eyes.”

Terry has been a professional freelance photographer for thirty years. Her photographs combine unique and compelling perspectives with strong technical skills. She has exhibited regularly in Ontario and worked on several ambitious social media projects, posting daily or weekly photographs or photographic collages for a year during 2011, 2013, and 2016.

Many in the Stratford area know and respect her for the photography courses she has been teaching at Gallery Stratford since 1999. Her commercial work encompasses a broad spectrum from publicity, events, products, concerts, and theatre, to people at work and play. Terry’s photographs also grace the pages of the cookbook Farm To Table: Celebrating Stratford Chefs School Alumni, Recipes & Perth County Producers, by Andrew Coppolino.

Yes, fish soup.

What is your best SCS memory?

So many good ones, but laughing so hard in Billy [Munnelly]‘s wine class that a few us were asked to leave.

I also loved talking about favourite foods in [SCS co-founder] Eleanor [Kane]’s gastronomy class. So many good stories. My fav was, and still is a tomato. I remember clearly the first time I ate a whole tomato like an apple. I was at the beach with my family and we were surrounded, as you are in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, by Italian families picnicking and playing baci, and they were eating whole tomatoes. I was hooked.
