HEY PARTNER!
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be dropping by to catch up with our community partners whose support and sponsorship we appreciate so much. We’ll let you know how they’re doing and what they’re up to!
First Stop: revel: independent coffee for a revolution, home of direct trade coffee, delicious pastries, and much revelry!
REVEL IN SUMMER
If you’ve spent more than a minute in Stratford, you have likely found your way to revel at 37 Market Place. This downtown espresso bar and pastry shop offers delicious direct trade coffee and amazing house-made pastries, cookies, and more.
We decided to drop by quickly and say hello to the revel team. As we struggled to decide between an assortment of mouth-watering pastries, folks wandered in and ordered, settled into the comfy red leather chairs and outdoor patio space, caught up, and enjoyed being part of the revel community. Behind the counter, a gigantic mound of fresh, plump, strawberries were being hulled; it’s strawberry season and one can only imagine what the revel team will be folding and baking these delicious berries into.
After thirteen years of ownership, Anne Campion is glad for the long-term relationship as coffee sponsor with Stratford Chefs School. Over the years, five School graduates – Randi Rudner (Class of 2012), Yva Santini (Class of 2009), Cortney Zettler (Class of 2012), Jordan Lassaline (Class of 2005), and Sarah Sinasac (Class of 2014), have been part of revel’s pastry team.

Starting as a student apprentice, Sarah Sinasac is now revel’s Pastry Chef and Bakery Team Lead. We only needed to speak with Sarah briefly to understand that she and Anne share the same passion to be good for the community, locally and globally, and to always move forward with ethical culinary decisions. While Anne is so pleased with Sarah’s expertise, excellence and creativity, Sarah appreciates Anne’s trust and openness to new ideas.
We think Stratford is very lucky to have these amazing women in our community!
We’ll be heading back to revel on Saturday for some doughnuts with our coffee and, hopefully, to find out what happened to all those glorious strawberries!

Chef Instructor: ELI SILVERTHORNE
“When I decided to be a chef, I made it a goal to pick the best culinary school in the country to build a solid foundation. I chose the Stratford Chefs School, mostly for its reputation for producing talent, for its intense training program, and for the intimate student – teacher ratio. I certainly wouldn’t be where I am in my career without the connections I made and the skills that I learned there.”
Carl Heinrich | Executive Chef and Co-owner, Richmond Station, Toronto | Stratford Chefs School Class of 2005 | Top Chef Canada 2012
“The Stratford Chefs School provides the training to create world-class chefs who are comfortable working in any kitchen environment. Its immersive, approachable, interactive curriculum provided me with the tools and confidence that I needed early on in my career to make the transition from the school setting to the workforce. Perhaps most important to me are the lasting friendships that were made, the ongoing support from the SCS community, and exciting collaborations with other alumni.”
Alondra Galvez | Owner/Chef, El Cactus Taco Shop | Stratford Chefs School Class of 2003
“At the Chefs School, I was given the opportunity to challenge myself, and expand the limits of my culinary skill and knowledge. SCS gave me the ability to trust in my own skill and allowed me to expand my knowledge. Now I confidently pass that skill and knowledge to my students.”
