The Bruce Hotel Scholarship for Emerging BIPOC Chefs is both need- and merit-based and will be awarded to one Canadian BIPOC student entering Stratford Chefs School each year, and will cover the full cost of tuition for the 32-week professional program.
In addition to satisfying our admission criteria above, interested applicants are required to submit the following documents to support their Scholarship application*:
1. A written statement (500-1000 words) detailing the following:
i) How the scholarship will make a difference in your career trajectory.
ii) Your previous community involvement. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate a commitment to the BIPOC community through volunteerism, activism, and/or involvement with BIPOC student groups.
iii) Any other information that may assist in determining your eligibility including, but not limited to, a brief description of your financial situation.
2. One letter of reference in support of your application from an academic or culinary source such as a course instructor, academic advisor, supervising chef.
3. One letter of reference in support of your application from an individual familiar with your personal achievements, community participation and/or volunteer activities and other contributions.
