BMO Scholarship

BMO Scholarship

The BMO Scholarship will recognize and assist students who demonstrate a dedication to improving their knowledge and skills in the culinary field and to making a contribution to the culinary communities in which they study and work.

Applicants must demonstrate community involvement in a community volunteer program(s) in the culinary field, such as Slow FoodFeast of the FieldsSecond HarvestMeals on Wheels, a food bank, or a charity fundraiser such as Empty Bowls or Soup’s On.

Preference will be given to those with a record of meaningful work in the culinary field or who may have excelled in a secondary school culinary program.

Successful applicants may receive a tuition scholarship for an amount up to $2,000 CAD.

Application:

To be considered for the BMO Scholarship, you must:

  • Submit an application by September 30, 2022

  • Be accepted into Stratford Chefs School’s upcoming Fall session (Level 1 or Level 2)

  • Submit a short statement discussing your experiences with community involvement during the past three years

  • Have achieved a minimum of 75% average in your previous year of school (transcript must be provided)

  • Submit a Student Financial Plan Form

  • Provide one letter of reference from someone familiar with your experience in community service within the last 24 months

Applications due by 5pm, September 30, 2022

Selections are based on academic standing in your most recent year of study and level of demonstrated community involvement. A selection committee comprised of Stratford Chefs School Executive Director, one member of Faculty and one Alumnus will assess applications.

Selected applicants will be notified by October 22, 2022 and scholarship value will be credited to the student’s fee account. Should the student withdraw from the School, a pro rata deduction will be made from the award and the balance of fees will remain owing to the School.
