Shu Zhang

Canadian Guest Chef, Class of 2011

Chef Shu Zhang (SCS Class of 2011) is a Chinese Canadian who was born in Shanghai and moved to Toronto with her family at a young age. She always had a love for food (mainly eating it), and decided to pursue a career in the culinary arts, discovering that she was actually kind of good at it!

She got her official start at Stratford Chefs School, and her first fine dining job at Rundles. After that, she decided to travel, and has since worked and staged in Shanghai, Copenhagen, London, Barcelona, Toronto, and many other cities and countries. Shu takes her inspiration from all corners of the globe, and is currently the sous-chef at Vela, in Toronto.
